On Thursday, December 4, students in kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade were able to participate in MZP’s 3rd Annual Spelling Buzz. Primary students are not eligible to participate in the District Spelling Bee, so the Spelling Buzz provides an opportunity to expose them to the concept. Scholars were able to engage in grade level competitions and spell words in front of their peers. The student competitors and audience members were thoroughly engrossed. It was really an awesome experience, and everyone is eager for next year’s competition!

Mount Zion Primary School energized staff spirit and community
engagement through its inaugural MZP Hunger Games—a creative,
schoolwide community food drive and challenge series inspired by themes
of teamwork, service, and friendly competition. Staff teams battled in
themed events, collected thousands of food items for local families, and
closed the week with a final “Tribute Service to the Capitol” volunteer
mission. The initiative showcased the school’s dedication to community
support while celebrating unity, creativity, and the power of collective effort.
